In this Cancellation Policy – Distillery Tours & Events, references to “we”, “us” and “our” are to Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd.

Cancelling Your Booking

If you would like to cancel your distillery tour or event booking, you can do so but there might be penalties.

If you cancel your booking more than 14 days before the confirmed date of attendance you will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before the date of attendance will receive a 50% refund. 

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the date of attendance will not be eligible for a refund.

We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause but as a small family-run business, we need time to be able to re-sell the spaces for our intimate distillery tours and special events.

Changes To Your Booking

If you would like to make a change to the date of your booking for a distillery tour or attendance at a special event, we ask that you do so more than 14 days ahead of your date of attendance.

Any changes made within 14 days of the date of attendance will be subject to a 50% penalty.

Any changes made within 48 hours of the date of attendance will need to be cancelled (with no refund) and re-booked (subject to availability).

Terms & Conditions

All persons taking a tour of Castletown Mill must purchase a ticket. Tickets must be retained at all times and submitted for inspection if required.

Any tickets purchased in advance are not valid in conjunction with any other voucher, promotion, special offer or package.

No ticket may be resold. If Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd reasonably believes that a tour ticket has been resold, the holder may be refused entry to the tour without payment or compensation.

Ticket prices may be subject to change. However, all pre-booked tickets will be honoured at the rate applied at the time of purchase.

A child is aged between 0 and 17 years inclusive. An adult is aged 18 years and over. Children aged 17 and under can participate on a guided Family Distillery Tour free of charge. Tour visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult, always aged 18 years or over. 1 paying adult may supervise up to a maximum of 2 children/under 18’s in the tour area.

Ticket holders should arrive at the Castletown Mill reception desk at least 10 minutes prior to the time printed on your ticket. Your booking reference must be produced as proof of booking on the day of the visit. Payments for tour bookings and special events are non-refundable and tickets may only be changed or replaced at the discretion of Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd. Should you miss your allocated time another tour slot cannot be guaranteed. Tour bookings are non-transferable and as a licensed premises Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd retains the right at its discretion to refuse entry to Castletown Mill.

Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd will endeavour to ensure that its guided distillery tours and experiences are open for use by visitors. However, we reserve the right, for safety, maintenance, or other valid reasons to close any part of Castletown Mill with or without prior notice. In the event of such closure Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd will issue visitors with a full refund for their tour or event ticket, but otherwise shall have no liability whatever, including no liability for travel or out of pocket expenses in respect of closure of part of the venue or cancellation of a guided tour or special event.

Other than liability for death or personal injury resulting from Dunnet Bay Distillers negligence, its employees or agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, howsoever arising, including without limitation any distress, inconvenience or anxiety caused during any visit undertaken and/or during evacuation from Castletown Mill.

Photography is permitted in the exhibition and tour areas unless otherwise stated. To prevent fire risk flash photography is strictly prohibited within the Still House and other working areas of the distillery.

From time-to-time Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd or other authorised parties may carry out photography and/or video recording and/or other monitoring which may feature visitors. By accepting these Terms & Conditions, you agree that Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd or any authorised party may use such images in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever. You further agree that copyright in these materials rests with Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd or such authorised party (as the case may be).

To prevent offensive weapons or dangerous articles from being taken into Castletown Mill, all visitors are admitted to the exhibition and tour areas within Castletown Mill subject to a condition that, if requested to do so, they will allow themselves and/or their belongings to be searched.

In accordance with Scottish Law and to prevent fire risk smoking is strictly prohibited within Castletown Mill.

Dogs and other pets are prohibited inside the exhibition, tour areas, Still House and other working areas of the distillery apart from Guide Dogs and other Assistance Dogs. Well-behaved and supervised pets are allowed in The Grain Store Distillery Shop and Calder’s Cottage: The Mill House Bistro on the bistro terrace area.

Jurisdiction

This Cancellation Policy – Distillery Tours & Events is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with Scottish Law, any claim brought against this Cancellation Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Scottish Law.

Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd is committed to the Framework For Fair Work In Scotland and is an accredited Living Wage Scotland employer
