About the Commis Chef role:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff
- Taking deliveries and prep work – ensuring our ingredients are fresh and ready for action
- Support the team in food production tasks, including chopping, mixing, and cooking as required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Working in all sections of the kitchen – including kitchen portering responsibilities
- Participation in inhouse and external training to ensue you and he team are at the top of your game.
- To continuously work towards improving service
- To ensure high levels of Food and Health & Safety are maintained at all times
The successful applicant will be a stickler for detail and take pride in every dish that leaves the kitchen. We will expect our commis chef to eventually be able to work well both unsupervised and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn and innovate. Be a capable decision maker who can problem solve and think on their feet, with a keen interest in food.
Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary training would be great but not essential. Full training will be given.
Hours are to suit the changing needs of the business and operating to seasonal demand. Permanent contract.
